Whether you're eager to partake of extravagantly fried foods, country music concerts or gravity-defying thrill rides, the Oklahoma State Fair is back with its fall bounty of familiar favorites and new attractions.

One of the state's largest annual events, the Oklahoma State Fair is Sept. 15-25 at the OKC Fairgrounds.

Prices for advance outside gate admission are the same as last year: $8 for adults and children 12 and older; $4 for children 6 to 11; and free for children 5 and younger. Season passes are $25.

During the fair, outside gate admission is $15 for adults and children 12 and older; $8 for children 6 to 11; and free for children 5 and younger. Season passes cost $40.

The full jam-packed fair schedule is available at okstatefair.com. But in honor of the venerable event's 11-day run, here are 11 shows, treats and attractions to look forward to at this year's Oklahoma State Fair:

Wondering what's new for 2022? Throughout this year's state fair, aspiring "American Ninja Warriors" can face off against family, friends and fellow fairgoers at the new Ninja Nation Obstacle Course on the Bandshell Lawn.

Plus, walking the plank is a risk hardy adventurers must take if they want to brave the new Pirate Game Show on the Plaza Stage.

The first Oklahoma Senior Games Country Western Line Dancing Competition on Sept. 24 will have seasoned contenders boot-scooting into the Modern Living Building, while the inaugural Equine Empowerment Horse Show on Sept. 21 will give equestrians with disabilities their first opportunity to show their skills in the state fair's Performance Arena.

An Oklahoma State Fair staple for more than three decades, Disney on Ice skates back into State Fair Arena Sept. 15-19 with the promise of "Road Trip Adventures."

The show will sweep attendees off to the sunny island of Motunui with Moana, the African Pride Lands with Simba and Nala, and a larger-than-life carnival with Woody and Forky.

Tickets for "Disney On Ice presents Road Trip Adventures" start at $20. They include outside gate admission if purchased by Sept. 14.

You've heard of NASCAR, but are you ready for GASCAR?

Goats, sheep, chickens, pigs and other critters feel the need for speed in the inter-species Great American Speedway Crazy Animal Races on Centennial Plaza.

That's where fairgoers also can cheer on their favorite cookie-craving oinkers in the Great American Pig Races.

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association's Xtreme Bulls & Broncs was one of the few marquee events that didn't return in 2021 when the fair made its COVID-19 comeback.

But the annual favorite — which combines pro rodeo action and concerts featuring top country music acts — is back for 2022, bringing brawny bulls, spirited broncs, daring cowboys and chart-topping stars to Jim Norick Arena during the event's second weekend.

"Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" hitmaker Trace Adkins will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23 after the bucking stops, while "Buy Me a Boat" singer-songwriter Chris Janson will play at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24.

Tickets are $45 for box seats, $38 for adults and children 12 and older in the upper level and $30 for children 2 to 11 in the upper level. Seats are required for attendees 2 and older.

Tickets purchased by Sept. 14 include outside gate admission to the fair.

Country music stars, classic rock acts and an Elvis Presley tribute are on the schedule for the fair's annual free concert series on the Chickasaw Country Entertainment Stage.

Celebrating his 30th anniversary in country music, hitmaker Tracy Lawrence will kick off the nightly shows on Sept. 15. The shows are free with paid outside gate admission.

What's the fair without a full menu of tempting treats to thrill the taste buds? Naturally, fairgoers can look for classics like jumbo turkey legs, burgers, corn dogs and more fried favorites on a stick than you can shake a stick at.

New treats for 2022 range from Hot Cheeto loaded fries and frozen brown sugar sweet tea to freeze-dried saltwater taffy and coconut shrimp actually served in a half-shell coconut.

Adventurous eaters can look for unusual fare like Snake Bite Nachos, which are chips covered with cheese and rattlesnake sausage spiced up with a special Venom Sauce; Bug Pizza, which comes topped with delicacies like scorpions, crickets and meal worms; and the WonderStick, which is an ice cream treat served in a special J-shaped cone that is billed as less likely to drip than traditional cones.

The 70th Annual Oklahoma State Fair Band Day Parade Competition marches on Sept. 19 in The Circle.

High school, mid-high and junior high bands — along with drum lines, drum majors, mascots, twirlers and color guard teams — from across the Sooner State will compete for trophies, cash prizes and bragging rights at this year's fair.

Fans of high-flying and high-speed rides are sure to find their kind of fun at the fair.

Through Sept. 14, thrill-seekers can save up to $20 when they purchase advance unlimited carnival ride armbands.

Armbands are $20 for fairgoers who attend Monday-Thursday and $30 for Friday-Sunday fair dates when bought in advance.

Want to super-size the autumnal experience of the Oklahoma State Fair?

Check out the gargantuan gourds in the Giant Pumpkin Competition and Weigh-Off at noon Sept. 17 in Oklahoma Expo Hall.

Open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., the Oklahoma Frontier Experience transports fairgoers back to the Wild West via an interactive array of shows, demonstrations and activities.

Twice a day, the Wild West Showcase will feature fantastic feats of trick roping and riding by the likes of barefoot Roman rider Dusti Crain-Dickerson, who has performed with Dolly Parton's Stampede; all-around cowboy Roper Kiesner, whose skills include whip cracking, gun spinning and mounted shooting; and Oklahoma City charro Gabriel Hernandez, who teams with his horse El Vallo to show off Mexican cowboy traditions.

It wouldn't be the fair without the livestock competitions. This year, champions will be selected in an array of contests, from llamas and alpacas to Brahman cattle and miniature silky fainting goats.

Yes, there will be miniature silky fainting goats at this year's fair.

One of the anticipated new attractions for the 2022 Oklahoma State Fair, the best of the best miniature silky fainting goats — the GOATS of the tiny adorable goats, if you will — are competing Sept. 20-22 in the Super Barn.
