If you possess superior epicurean skills when it comes to describing the perfect fried chicken, you absolutely must stop by Twozone Chicken in Hesperia. Prepare yourself to be immersed in the food — as well as side dishes and snacks like Sweet & Spicy Popping Corn Chips, for example — which may very likely become your new favorites.

Twozone Chicken has taken South Korea by storm since it opened in 2007. More than 300 locations exist there today, and the franchise has set its sights on bringing its menu to the rest of the world.

Antibiotic-free, free-range chickens are prepared fresh — never frozen — with a “thin, crackly and almost transparent crust,” according to Julia Moskin, food staff reporter for none other than The New York Times.

Small or medium-sized chickens are selected because they are younger and produce more tender meat. The chicken is usually seasoned with spices, salt and sugar before and after frying.

The final step is to brush the fried chicken with sauce so each piece is evenly coated with a thin layer before being served.

Hesperia Twozone Chicken owners Jenny and Brian Choe were certain the eatery would be a hit in the High Desert and convinced the franchise owner to come to the area and see for himself. He had already approved a location in Las Vegas, but after talking to the couple, he knew the High Desert was ready for Twozone Chicken as well.

Several circumstances helped bring South Korean culture to America’s attention including the Netflix series "Squid Game" and the Oscar-winning film "Minari."

After the Las Vegas Twozone Chicken opened, Los Angeles welcomed two franchises as did Portland. Others will open in Fontana and Florida.

Twozone Chicken offers outstanding flavor profiles including various spice levels in sauces plus imaginative side dishes like pickled radishes and tteokbokki, a spicy stir-fried rice cake. You can also order fish cakes with egg and veggies, fresh corn salad, coleslaw, sweet potato fries, white rice, cheese sticks and more to enjoy with your meal.

Every order comes with your choice of dipping sauce. Carbonated beverages — beer or soda — are popular refreshments with the meal. Korean drinks are available, too.

Order by phone or online; just indicate when you’d like to get your order and it will be ready for you at that time. Walk-in orders are welcome, too. Food preparation does not begin until the order is placed. You can also arrange for delivery.

The online order site is clover.com/online-ordering/Twozonechicken_Hesperia. Prices start at $11.99 for the boneless one-flavor chicken combo with your choice of sauce, on the side if you wish. Take a look at the online menu for information on these imaginative and mouth-watering sauces as well as pictures of the wonderful side dishes.

Twozone Chicken has a lunch special that starts at $12.99 and includes sides and beverage. Another special is the family chicken combo. Each is clearly described online.

New menu items will be added soon.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, answering all your questions and offering suggestions for foods or combination orders that you might enjoy.
