Wild Fork Foods Celebrates South Tampa Grand Opening | Tampa, FL Patch

TAMPA, FL — As part of its continued expansion in Tampa Bay, Wild Fork Foods hosted a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new South Tampa store at 824 S Dale Mabry Highway on Friday.

While the store officially opened in May, it was a chance for the grocery store to introduce its fresh meat and seafood to the community and offer some rewards to loyal shoppers.

This is the second Wild Fork Foods in Tampa Bay. The first opened in Westchase at 10601 Sheldon Road in June 2021. And the company is preparing to open its third market in St. Petersburg.

The Miami-based meat-and-seafood market offers more than 700 products ranging from Australian wagyu to alligator, as well as wild-caught seafood and plant-based proteins.

The market sources beef from slow feeders in Nebraska and Colorado, a region that produces some of the top cattle in the world due to the cold climate and lush grasslands. All beef is aged in a climate-controlled environment for 17 days to enhance the flavor and tenderness. Then the meats are blast frozen at 40 degrees to be shipped to its stores.

Wild Forks Foods began as an ecommerce operation, shipping special-order deliveries in a day around the country. Due to the high demand and customer satisfaction, the company has launched an ambitious plan to open brick-and-mortar markets around the country that blend elements of specialty retailers with traditional grocery stores.

"Wild Fork can provide the centerpiece dish to every home-prepared meal – from weeknight dinner staples like chicken breasts and ground beef to special-occasion dinner party ingredients like organic rack of lamb, 100 percent Japanese A5 Wagyu and Ahi Tuna Saku Block," CEO Vincent Trius said. "We also have side dishes, ready-to-eat meals, vegetables, breads, desserts, spices and sauces to go along with every meal, all at competitive prices to provide convenience without compromise."

Wild Fork offers such choice meats as black Angus and Wagyu beef, including Chicago-style prime rib, Chateaubriand and Wagyu beef picahna along with ready-to-cook Memphis-style St. Louis ribs and tamarind barbecue pork butt roast.

Wild Fork offers a variety of pre-cooked and ready-to-cook seafood including mojito-smoked, gin and tonic-smoked, garlic and pepper-smoked, whiskey, honey-smoked and peppered hot-smoked salmon that can be popped in the oven or put on the grill, skin-on goldband snapper with Mediterranean butter, skinless sashimi-grade Atlantic whole salmon filets, fully cooked green shell and blue mussels, skinless Chilean sea bass filets, yellow-fin tuna filets, Peruvian bay scallops, North Atlantic lobster tails, fully cooked hard-shell clams and escargots.

Specialty meats include bison, elk, boar, yak, duck, venison, ostrich, quail and pheasant.
